Clean up text in one click.

TextPalette is a plain-text editor with a sidebar of one-click fixes: change case, sort, dedupe and restyle lists, tame whitespace, straighten or curl punctuation, find & replace, and see your Markdown formatted beside your text. Chain your favourite fixes into a workflow and run them all in one click. Select a passage and any fix stays inside it.

Or pick it up in a bundle with over twenty other apps.

Workflows

Chain any fixes into a saved workflow — say, unwrap a PDF paste, trim the lines, then curl the quotes — and run the whole chain in one click, or with ⌥⌘1–9 from the Workflows menu. Steps run in order, each on the last one’s result, and a single Undo takes it all back.

Aa

Case, every way

UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, and Sentence case — plus a Code case menu for camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, and CONSTANT_CASE, and Remove accents to turn “Crème brûlée” into “Creme brulee.”

≡

Lines, spaces & punctuation

Sort A→Z or Z→A, reverse, shuffle, dedupe, drop blank lines, or join them — and restyle a list as plain, bulleted, or numbered. Trim trailing spaces, collapse runs, convert tabs↔spaces, swap straight quotes for smart ones (or back), fix ellipses, normalize dashes.

±

Formatted & diffed

Markdown files get a Plain / Formatted / Diff switch: Formatted shows headings, lists, tables, quotes, and code rendered beside your text as you type. And once you’ve made changes, Diff puts the saved file and your edits side by side with the exact characters picked out.

⌕

Find, replace & wrap

Match case on or off, use regular expressions, step through hits, or replace them all — popped out into its own window with multiline fields when you need room. Or wrap each word, sentence, or paragraph in a tag, for <p> blocks, Markdown, or quoting.

▤

Queue, filler & menu bar

Open several files into a queue and work through them, drop in 1–9 words, sentences, or paragraphs of offline filler copy, or summon a menu-bar scratch pad for a quick fix without leaving the app you’re in.
